Roselea were without last week's goal hero Longmuir and were also missing McKellar, Crawford and Rae. On the plus side new manager Ralph Brand was able to name himself in the squad.
The game started in wintry conditions with a heavy shower being
blown on by a strong cross field wind, but this quickly cleared as both teams tried to come to terms with the elements.
The first incident of the game saw Rosyth goalkeeper Houston having to be replaced after a brave diving challenge to stop Watson who had broken through the home defence.
The home side were looking the sharper and went close in seven minutes. Good play by Watt saw his cross to the far post knocked just wide by the stretching Ross Morrison.McLeod was then called into action before Craig Morrison pounced as Roselea found it hard to cope with the home side's quick play.
McLeod again had to tip a Gratton shot over as the home side continued to dominate with Roselea struggling to put any passes together.
Roselea had a rare attack and Watson turned inside from the left and hit a shot from 18 yards which went narrowly past.
It was no surprise in 27 minutes when the home side took the lead. A simple long ball cleared the Roselea defence and Craig Morrison calmly shot past McLeod.
The same player was in on goal again in 40 minutes but this time the striker lifted his effort over the bar.
Roselea had their best spell in the last five minutes of the half. Maiden headed over from a corner, then Watson and Croall linked up but didn't have enough support to worry the home defence.
It was a different Roselea that emerged after the turnaround.
Watson was first to have an effort after patient build up play but the striker's attempt landed on the top of the net.
Minutes later there was a near goal line clearance from Vinter when Watson slipped the ball past the keeper as Roselea continued to dominate the early stages of the half.
In 55 minutes the home side responded when Haddow was set up by Morrison and McLeod had to turn the effort behind for a corner.
The game swung back to the other end and a defender had to concede a corner before Strachan latched on to a Maiden pass. From the resultant corner Croall saw his header at the back post scrambled clear before anyone could pounce.
The game was being totally played in the Rosyth half at this point and Craig sent in an overhead kick which saw Anderson set up Whyte, but his shot was blocked then cleared.
Roselea made their first change when Brand replaced Croall as the away side continued to try to level the game.
Rosyth stunned Roselea when in a breakaway Morrison got clear on the left and from his cross Haddow got to the ball first and squeezed it home to make it 2-0.
The lead did not last long as eventually the Roselea pressure told. Christie was sent free on the right and from his low cross Ralph Brand nipped in front of his defender and scored his first goal for the club.
The away side made another change when Mustard went on to replace Christie and made a few positional changes to again try and get back on level terms.
In 86 minutes Roselea's day was summed up when a free kick was played into their penalty area. Two defenders challenged for the ball and it rebounded between them to Vaughan who scored from a few yards.
After the displays in recent weeks this was an out of character performance from the Roselea team. Their defence didn't look safe and they didn't create enough chances.
This Saturday, Roselea play yet another cup tie, a Challenge Cup first round game at Downfield. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
Roselea: McLeod, Paterson, Maiden, Miller, Whyte, Christie (Mustard), Anderson, Craig, Strachan, Watson, Croall (Brand). Subs: Simpson, Riach.
