MONTROSE School of TaeKwon-do attended the inaugural TaeKwon-Do and Kickboxing Open Championship in Livingston on Sunday May 3 and enjoyed a hugely successful competition.

Montrose school entered a team of four, 3 senior and 1 junior. Between them the four competitors won 9 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal, a fantastic achievement for such a small squad.

The senior team swept the board winning all Sparring and Patterns Individual and Team events, while Kirstie McNairn won Gold in 13-17 yrs Pattern on her competition debut.

"I am very proud of them all especially my daughter of course, with it being her first ever competition, and it just goes to show that all that hard work and effort we put in, in training, pays off when it counts. We now have to get back to training, and concentrate on the British Championship coming up in June," said senior instructor David McNairn.

If anyone is interested in taking up either of these dynamic martial arts, TaeKwon-Do or Korean Kick Boxing, and for any further information, including photographs and video of recent events, please visit the website : www.davidmcnairnblackbeltacademy.co.uk or contact Mr. McNairn on 01674 830406.
