Rotary donation to tennis club

MONTROSE Rotary Club has made a donation from their Youth Fund Programme to Montrose Tennis Club.

Hamish Watt, convenor of Montrose Rotary's Youth Fund Committee made the donation of £1000 to the Tennis Club to help them with their Youth Development Programme.

Mr. Watt said: "The purpose of our Fund is to help in this case youngsters to develop an interest in playing tennis and hopefully some will go on to play at a higher level. You never know there might be another Andy Murray just waiting to be discovered in Montrose!

"Representatives from Montrose Tennis Club will also be invited to a Rotary Club meeting later in the year to talk about how the donation has been used.

"Montrose Rotary Club wishes Montrose Tennis Club every success in the promotion of their Youth Development Programme."

Watched by the youngsters from the Tennis Camp, Orange Group, Hamish Watt (back row third from left) presents the cheque to tennis club secretary Rhona Alston.
