MONTROSE Roselea brought the curtain down on a marvellous season on May 26, when they were presented with the East Region North League Championship trophy after their final game.
Roselea were superb throughout their league campaign and suffered their only defeat, 1-0 at home to East Craigie, after the title had been secured.
The Lea drew three times at home, against their closest challengers, Broughty, Violet and Harp an
d had seven wins. Their away record was impeccable, with eleven straight wins.
The Montrose side had a home record of W7 D3 L1 F21 A6 and an away record of W11 D0 L0 F36 A6 for an overall W18 D3 L1 F57 A12 Pts 57.
Roselea's complete league record was: Broughty D1-1 (h) W1-0 (a); Violet D2-2 (h) W5-0 (a); Harp D0-0 (h) W3-0 (a); Arbroath Vics W2-0 (h) W2-0 (a); Arbroath SC W3-0 (h) W3-1 (a); East Craigie L0-1 (h) W5-1 (a).

Roselea also excelled in a number of cup competitions.
In the Scottish Cup, Lesmahagow were beaten in round two and St Rochs in round three, then Dyce were beaten after a replay. In the fifth round, Glasgow giants Petershill drew at Montrose before finally ending the Roselea run by beating them 2-1 in the replay.
Bad weather hampered Roselea during their Scottish Cup run and they suffered a series of postponements in successive rounds. It was to their credit that they managed to win their games in hand and overhaul title rivals Broughty.
In the East of Scotland Cup, Dalkeith Thistle were beaten in the first round, then Newtongrange Star were beaten on penalties before Forfar West End beat Roselea in round three.
The Lea also got to the third round of the GA Engineering Cup, beating Luncarty and Burghead Thistle, before they lost on penalties to Harp.
The season started with the DJ Laing League Cup and Roselea cruised through their section with three straight wins before Forfar West End beat them in the semi-final.
Roselea made no impact in two other cups, played at the end of the season. Violet beat them in the first round of the Redwood Leisure Cup and in the Currie Cup, Harp secured another penalty shoot-out win after a 1-1 draw.
Calum Watson was the Roselea top scorer with 30 goals, 20 in the league and ten in the cups. He was followed by Steve Kerrigan with 13 goals and Kevin Longmuir with ten, nine of them in cup competition.
Other tallies were Paul Whyte nine, Colin Kennedy and Martin Christie with six, James McKellar five, Calum Rae four, Ewan Graham three, Scott Riach and Ralph Brand with two and Andrew Maiden, Sean Mustard and Doug Craig with one. There was one own-goal.
There were league hat-tricks for Watson against Coupar Angus and Rae against Violet.
Longmuir netted four against Luncarty in the GA Cup and McKellar scored a hat-trick against Brechin Vics in the DJ Laing Cup.
