MONTROSE FC will be holding an open day at Links Park on Saturday as they look to expand their under 19 squad.
Footballers born in '92, '93 or '94 from the Montrose, Angus, Dundee and Stonehaven areas are invited to come along as manager Steven Tweed looks to expand his net and boost the under 19 side.
After losing the final game of the season to Elgin on
Saturday, Tweed said: "It was a chance to play different players in different positions and it told us a few things about some people."
Tweed said he was looking to have a more competitive squad for next season, with discussions currently underway.
He said there would be a few changes but not as many major changes as last season as the majority of his squad are under contract for the next season.
Alan Campbell, James Collier and Stephen McNally have extended their deals by another year.
But former Motherwell goalkeeper Steven Coutts has been released, along with midfielder Marek Tomana, while Andy McNeil has also left Montrose and is set to sign a one-year contract with Raith Rovers.
Tweed is also looking to put together a deal with experienced attacker Paul Tosh for him to play a key role next season. Tosh is a qualified SFA coach and Tweed is currently working on a deal that will see him stay at Montrose as both a first-team player and a coach to the younger players.
Tweed said there could also be one or two more leaving the squad before the new season starts.
