MONTROSE manager Steven Tweed has been busy rebuilding his squad for the new season by signing six players.
The Links Park gaffer has fixed up three young players from Dundee United, Gordon Pope, Fraser Milligan and Sean Fleming.
Pope and Milligan were on loan at Montrose last season while Fleming was at Albion Rovers and actually played against Montr
ose on the final day of the season.
Steven recruited two players from Carnoustie Panmure, Jon Voigt and and Montrose boy James Collier, then fixed up goalkeeper Stuart Hall from Thornton Hibs.
"The young lads coming from United know what it is all about. I am sure they will do the business for us as they played in this league last season.
"Jon and James are stepping back up to the senior ranks after going down to the juniors, so I hope they will grasp the opportunity with both hands."
Striker Voigt started with Dundee before moving on the Arbroath and Collier was with Aberdeen and Arbroath.
"I am giving these lads a platform and I am sure they will take the chance. James is a versatile player and can play as a striker or in defence.
"I have signed Stuart Hall from Thornton Hibs, beating off both Forfar and East Fife to get him.
"I need three or four more players, another centre-half, another striker and another midfielder and I have another goalkeeper in mind."
Pre-season training begins on June 24. Steven has arranged for a Hibs X1 to visit Links Park on July 21 and he is waiting for Dundee United to confirm when they will come to Montrose for a pre-season game.
Montrose have been drawn away to Inverness Caley Thistle in the first round of the Alba Challenge Cup. The tie will take place on Saturday, July 25 and will be the club's first competitive game of the new season.
