A start to cherish!

A dream start to the season or what! Top of the Second Division after a convincing, 4-1 win and fans impatient for the side’s next outing.

It was certainly a dream start for manager George Shields, giving him a 100 per cent league record with Mo’.

After the game he said he was delighted with the team’s performance. The only negative was Ross McCord’s red card, which he thought was a bit harsh.

It seems odd, this early in the season, to have a blank Saturday, but Montrose’s scheduled opponents, Clyde, are due to play Rangers in a Petrofac Cup tie on Monday. Therefore, Saturday’s game has been postponed. A replacement date has not been announced.

The next fixture will be a home game on August 23 against Annan Athletic.
