Roselea opened up their 2014-15 McBookie.com East Premier League campaign on Wednesday (August 6) against Forfar West End and returned home pointless after a 4-1 defeat.

After what appeared to be a foul on Scott McDowell on the 20 minute mark, Darren SCOTT broke free and slotted home.

Seven minutes later slack marking following a corner saw Gary ROBERTSON score with a well-taken header.

A superb solo goal from Dale REID in 43 minutes gave Roselea a half-time lifeline and home ‘keeper Johnstone made a great save a minute later to preserve the home side’s lead.

Graham HART struck a great free kick in 48 minutes with the ball hitting the bar then bouncing off ‘keeper Ross McLeod’s back and into the net.

Roselea had a good spell of pressure in the following 20 minute,s however the breaks did not come and Johnstone pulled off a wonder save from on-form Reid’s effort.

West End substitute Mark Pirie finished the game off with a fine strike in 71 minutes.

The home side deserved their win and Roselea struggled for much of the game.
