Archie honoured with testimonial

A TESTIMONIAL match was held on Saturday to mark 20 sasons of service to Luthermuir FC by Murdoch Anderson.

The game was between the current Luthermuir team and guests and a select side brought together by former Luthermuir player Eric Watson, now captain of Cove Rangers FC.

The powerful select side scored in 13 minutes through Paul Tosh and then Bryan Forbes five minutes later.

Nineteen minutes into the second half Colin Kennedy made it 3-0.

Murdoch Anderson had a header and a shot saved during the game and it looked as if he was going to get a goal in the final minute when Eric Watson brought down Frazer Cerretti in the box, but veteran goalkeeper Davie Robertson dived to his left to save Anderson’s penalty kick.

r Accompanied by his two sons Hamish and Archie, Murdoch is applauded on to the field by the two teams.
