European Cup winner’s autobiography

MONTROSE-born footballer John McGovern will conduct two local signing sessions of his autobiography ‘From Bo’ness to Bernabeu’ in his home town.

John, whose playing career started at Hartlepool, was a member of the trophy-winning Derby County team, and went on to Nottingham Forest which he captained to win the European Cup twice under the managership of the enigmatic Brian Clough. He also played for Hartlepool and, briefly, Leeds United.

He played more than 500 league games in his career, and played twice for the Scotland under-23s.

There will be a signing session at 7.30pm in the Golf Inn on Wednesday, December 5; and at Hogg, newsagent, at noon the following day.
