Luthermuir Women were on Second Division (East) league duty against established local team Forfar Farmington Ladies.
The home side had a strong squad and straight from the kick-off took the game to Forfar and pressed their opponents into their own half.
Out on the left Shaw was fouled and the resulting free kick, whipped over by Bruce, was headed on by Lynch. The ball fell in the six-yard box and was fired home by MURISON.
Luthermuir doubled their lead in the 10th minute. Forrester played the ball out wide to Middleton who tried to play a low pass to Murison but it was intercepted by Steel. She couldn’t control it and MURISON skipped past her, coolly slotting over the ‘keeper.
On 18 minutes a corner from the left was fired over by Bruce and just headed wide by Boyack.
A free kick against the lively Murison resulted in Oliphant delivering a great ball to Boyack who again just headed wide. The final chance of the half came on 41 minutes when a corner was fizzed over by Bruce and Oliphant’s header was just off target.
Half-time: Luthermuir 2, Forfar 0.
On 55 minutes another free kick against Murison, 35 yards out, was fired over the helpless ‘keeper by OLIPHANT.
Murison was a handful for the away team and out wide she was fouled again. BRUCE fired the ball over the wall. Ritchie tried to head it clear but could not stop it hurtling into the Forfar goal.
The game slowed as the Luthermuir girls realised they had sealed all three points. A few chances were created but Tasker saved well.
On 65 minutes Forrester came off and Reoch went on to freshen up front with Murison dropping to right midfield.
Another free kick out on the left was fizzed over by Bruce and OLIPHANT got there before anyone else to fire home.
Forfar created their first chance on 81 minutes when good work down the right had the striker away but her shot was easily gathered by Aiken in the Luthermuir goal
The final chance came when Murison fired over a great corner, headed just over by Reoch.
