Merpro returned home on Saturday with the points after recording another important victory over Morgan in Dundee.
The match kicked off on an unseasonably warm afternoon but it took some time for Merpro to get into their rhythm as the home side continually broke up the play with their direct play.
Merpro started slowly and had to thank Duff for a couple of strong tackles to keep the home side at bay. Graeme Allan also had to head clear off the line from a dangerous in swinging corner.
Merpro got into their stride after some good combination play when Craig Allan found Whyte on an overlapping run to run in on goal to slip a pass inside for the supporting Campbell BRUCE to hit first time to curl into the net from 10 yards to open the scoring.
Two minutes later, Merpro went further ahead with another excellent worked goal. Ferries head flicked onto Graham in midfield to collect and drive inside at the back line to slip a reverse pass for the breaking Craig ALLAN to run in on goal to calmly shoot past the GK from 12 yards.
Half time: Morgan FPs 0, Merpro 2.
Duff sent a pass forward for Allan to make an overlap to slide a pass inside for brother Craig to fire in at goal from 10 yards. His effort was blocked on the line falling for the ‘Hippo’ Scott GRAHAM to react quickest to prod into the net from 5 yards.
The visitors’ dominance was rewarded with some more good combination play from Duff and Graham, who slid a perfect cross into the box at the back post for Craig ALLAN to calmly meet and tuck into the net with his left foot from eight yards.
A few minutes later, Robertson then created a superb pin point corner kick, falling for Graeme ALLAN to rise highest to head home into the net.
Merpro continued to press forward and Petrie burst forward but Chicho was chopped down on the edge of the box. From the resultant free kick the ball fell for Murdoch but his lofted lobbed effort at goal was saved on the line by the keeper in the final minutes.
