Montrose Football Club’s manager Stuart Garden has left Links Park.

It was announced on Monday (April 7) that Mr Garden left by mutual consent, following the club’s failure to reach the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) League 2 play-offs.

This was after the Gable Endies suffered another defeat, losing 4-0 to Peterhead.

The club will be advertising the post for a manager or a player/manager combined role shortly.

In the meantime, George Shields, assistant manager, and John McCafferty, goalkeeping coach, will be responsible for coaching and the team selection duties.

Derek Sim, chairman of Montrose FC, said: “The club wishes to place on record our thanks to Stuart for his efforts during the past two years.”
