Roselea, fresh from a great League win over Forfar West End, were looking to continue their form in a tough cup-tie v Superleague Lochee United in the second round of the GA Cup.
Paul Whyte, James Collier and Graeme Allan were missing. Marcus Watt, ex-Arbroath FC, made his squad debut. Paul Taylor was on the bench, still feeling a rib injury. On the eve of the game transfer-listed Robert Urquhart joined Dundee Violet.
Lochee’s ‘keeper Van-deryl and his back-up were missing so goalkeeping coach, ex-Montrose FC Jim Buttars went on.

The home side took the lead in two minutes. Reid was very quick in the box and Webster connected with his legs. Referee Ferguson had no choice but to award the home side a penalty and WATSON sent Buttars the wrong way.

The referee pulled play back for no advantage as Riach was brought down. Watson wasn’t far away from 25 yards.
Half-time: Roselea 1, Lochee United 1.
The first chance after the interval saw Gates looking likely to score but the referee gave a foul for a shirt pull on Rae.
Roselea had a chance on 60 minutes when Watson swivelled in the middle of the pitch and sent a lovely through ball to Reid who over ran the ball. Riach’s first touch let him down with an open goal available.
The game was flowing from end to end. Lochee thought they had broken through when Blackwood was poised to shoot but he was given offside.
On 68 minutes Watt came on for Ross. The visitors then forced a string of corners. Voigt had a low drive from a tight angle well saved by McLeod.
Roselea threw Brand and Cruickshank on for Anderson and Reid in the last 10 minutes to try to take the tie to their visitors.
In a late flurry Lochee had three chances to win. Hagan had a low drive well blocked by McLeod then he had a free kick from 25 yards just go wide. At the death the normally reliable Blackwood screwed an easy chance wide.
