Montrose Football Club manager George Shields has handed professional contracts to two of this season’s Under-17 squad.

Strikers Kyle McLeod and Declan Milne put pen to paper at Links Park on two -ear contracts.

Seventeen-year-old Kyle is a fifth year pupil at Montrose Academy, whilst Declan (16) is sitting his Highers at Bridge of Don Academy in Aberdeen.

Both players were on the bench for Montrose in their final league match of the season against East Stirlingshire

The two players will now join the first team squad for pre-season training in mid June, which is a great boost for the younger players at the club and also for their coaches, Kevin Pert and Cameron Marshall.

Both boys will be looking to follow in the footsteps of ex-Gable Endies’ stars Martin Boyle and Aaron Taylor Sinclair, who will be plying their trade with Dundee and Partick Thistle respectively next season in the Scottish Premiership.

Montrose FC have also re-signed Jonathan Crawford, Craig Bell, Ross McCord and Colin Wilson on new contracts for next season.
