Last home game of the year is off

MONTROSE were one of many clubs in Scotland to bear the brunt of the winter weather last weekend when their league game at home against Queen’s Park was cancelled.

The Gable Endies had been hoping to add a win to their tally after their defeat away to Annan the previous Saturday.

Weekend football has been put on the back burner over the festive period and the next two games will be played on Monday, December 26, and Monday, December 2.

First up will be Peterhead away on Boxing Day and with the previous favourites currently sitting at the bottom of the table it could be a good chance for Montrose to grab a much-needed three points.

The first game of the New Year will be another long away day, this time to fifth in the table Berwick.

In their last league meeting at Links Park, Montrose were defeated despite goals from Boyle, Lunan and Cameron, so they will be looking for revenge for that 5-3 loss.

The next home game will be Stranraer on Saturday, January 7.

A date for the rearranged Queen’s Park game has yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the club is still looking for supporters to sign up for the Player Sponsorship scheme.

The opportunity is open to both businesses and individuals, possibly those from far afield who want to show support for the club.

The price is £100 + vat per season and for that you will get your name displayed in the match programme and on the player’s profile on the website.

Contact Glynis at the club on 01674 673200 or e-mail the Gable Endies on to sponsor your favourite player.

The Review wishes all at the club the compliments of the season.
