LUTHERMUIR knew this 1st Touch Football Division One East game would be hard.
From the kick-off Luthermuir won a corner after good passing by Anderson and Greig. On 36 minutes Newmachar created space down the wing and as the cross was put deep to the back post an unmarked player side-footed home for the opener.
Luthermuir suffered a double blow, losing this goal and Milne through injury. The scorer had been running back with Milne and as Milne gained an advantage in front of him it appeared he kicked him over. As he tumbled to the ground he broke his collar bone and will be out for six to eight weeks, but this was missed by the referee.
This fired up the players and on 43 minutes a ball down the wing by R. Darar was controlled by Bremner. He turned two players and crossed from the bye-line but Slesser missed a golden chance from six yards.
Half-time: Luthermuir 0, Newmachar 1.
On 54 minutes a ball down the wing by Morrison released Anderson. He cut into the box and squared for BREMNER to finish low.
The game burst into life on 82 minutes when R. Darar was caught in position and as the striker played the ball through the back line a Newmachar player raced clear and as Wands advanced out he slotted home.
Greig crossed low, Bremner nipped ahead of his defender to control the ball but was felled by a late tackle, penalty! ANDERSON scored.
Another Newmachar player talked his way into the book for a second yellow and off. The final chance fell to Luthermuir but Duff tipped it round the post.
