Montrose have confirmed the signing of Bairns keeper Alex Tokarczyk on loan for the rest of the season.

The player is Paul Hegarty’s fourth signing in January as the Gable Endies boss strengthens an injury-hit squad.

The 23-year-old keeper joins Chris Templeman, Jamie Clark and St Johnstone loanee Neil Martyniuk as the Mo’s January recruits.

Paul said: “Chris Templeman brings added fire power up front, Jamie Clarke brings creativity to midfield, Neil Martyniuk brings a youthfulness and energy to the back four and Alex will bring good strength and presence in goals. I am very happy with how the squad now looks and recent performances have been very promising.”

English-born Alex began his professional career in 2011 with Hayes & Yeading and spent four seasons in the Conference with clubs such as Maidstone United and Farnborough.

He spent last season with Southern Football League outfit Hanwell Town before signing for Falkirk last October.

He played in goals against Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup in November and has made the bench on 11 occasions since, most recently in the Bairns’ Cup defeat to Dundee last week.

With boss Peter Houston adding to his goalkeeping cover recently with the signing of Deniz Dogan Mehmet, Alex became available for a short term loan.
