Montrose manager Paul Hegarty has a number of irons in the fire with regards new signings for next season.

However, he is having to play a waiting game as his targets weigh up the offers.

Hegarty told The Review this week that he has been busy trying to bolster to his squad for next season’s assault on League Two.

“We’ve got several enquiries out there,” Hegarty said.

“I’ve spoken to several players but most of them are on holiday at the moment so we are just waiting for them to get back to us.”

One of Hegarty’s priorities is a goalkeeper after Jordan Miller returned to St Johnstone following his loan spell at Links Park.

“We’re looking for goalkeepers - plural - because we don’t have one at present,” Hegarty added. “We also want a defender and a striker, but if a midfielder is available that will improve the squad then we won’t rule it out.”
