Montrose Football Club are set to hold their second Hall of Fame dinner on Saturday, March 29, at Montrose Town Hall.
The event will see a further five former players inducted to the club’s Hall of Fame some 10 years after former greats David Larter, Bobby Livingstone, Dennis D’Arcy, Martin Allan, Les Barr, Ivo Den Bieman, Colin McGlashan, Gary Murray, Ian Stewart, Harry Johnston and Alec Stuart became the first players to be honoured by the club.
Montrose FC is hoping that many fans and former players will be able to attend the event that forms part of the Gable Endies’ 135th anniversary celebrations, which take place this year. There will also be a lifetime achievement award for former chairman Willie Johnston.
The club has selected a further 15 nominations for the five new members to come from and are looking to their fans all over the world to join in with the voting that will take place in the club programme and on the Internet via the clubs website www.montrosefc.co.uk, on Facebook, the fans’ forum (www.montrosefansforum.net), via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to Montrose FC Hall of Fame, c/o Andrew Stephen, Links Park Stadium, Montrose.
Each person will be allowed to vote for their top five players out of the following 15 players: Gordon Wallace, Ronnie Cross, Willie Nicoll, Jimmy McIntosh, Brian Third, Kenny Watson, John Sheran, Colin Maver, Bruce Morrison, Innes Macdonald, Steven King, Allan Kennedy, Hugh Davidson, Steve Kerrigan and Mark Craib.
The voting for the Hall of Fame will close on February 15. Tickets for the dinner are £40 and will be available from the club shortly.
