Montrose FC has warned fans not to invade the pitch at Links Park should it look as if the club is going to lose the second leg of their play off matches.
The Gable Endies face Brora Rangers on Saturday in Montrose.
They lost 1-0 at the weekend gone in the first leg of the play offs to the Rangers at Dudgeon Park.
Montrose FC, who have been part of the league set up since 1923, could lose their SPFL status if they don’t beat Brora Rangers by at least two goals at the game at Links Park on Saturday.
A statement on Montrose FC’s Facebook page reads: “It has been brought to the attention of the club that should the result be going against the club a minority of Montrose Football Club supporters may wish to attempt to enter the field of play and cause the match to be abandoned.
“This action, besides marring a great day will inevitably lead to Police action, sanctions from SFA and SPFL and bring unwanted publicity to our great club.
“Please bear in mind besides many press reporters at the game, SKY and other TV companies are attending the match and the reporting of such an incident can only harm our reputation.
“Many thanks for the support of all fans attending the game on Saturday.”
