Two goalkeepers remain the priority for Montrose manager Paul Hegarty.
And the Gable Endies gaffer is also keen to reinforce his defence and attack in the coming weeks.
Pre-season training resumes this Saturday and Hegarty has a significant number of players signed already.
That’s in stark contrast to last year’s summer and the manager is thrilled with the team’s current position.
He said: “We’ve spoken to several players at present. Two of them are away on holiday just now and a couple, their agents are looking to see what opportunities may arise.
“We’re looking forward to getting started, we start pre-season on Saturday, June 11 so we’ve been fairly busy over the last few weeks.
“It’s much different from last year. John Holt and myself were chasing our tails trying to get our players in. This year has been a bit easier because a lot of the players wanted to stay at Montrose. They see signs of improvement and they’re enjoying it, and that’s testament to everyone involved at the club.
“Signing Michael is a big addition, he’s a very experienced player and re-signing Gary is a big bonus.
“It’s a great bit of work from the board to entice him to stay.
“That is our main priority, two goalkeepers for the start of the season.
“I’d like another defender and another striker as well.”
