Paul Hegarty has started his summer signings by extending the contract of Ryan Ferguson for another 12 months.

The Links Park boss wasted no time, following the last home game of the season on Saturday, to secure the services of the 22 year old for another year.

Ryan joined the Gable Endies last June from Angus neighbours Brechin City and has made 32 appearances this season playing both at full back and in a wide midfield role.

A player known to Hegarty from his days at Tannadice, Ferguson started his career as a youth player with Dundee United and in season 2013/14 spent six months on loan at Dunfermline Athletic.

The Kirriemuir based midfielder left United in January 2014 and joined Brechin City where he made 27 appearances and scored twice.

This brings Hegarty’s squad for next season to 12 and he hopes to have further news on signings in the next couple of weeks.

Fans’ favourite Adrian Mallagaray has decided to return to Spain and loanees Jordan Millar, Alex Tokarczyk, Aaron Comrie and Neil Martynuik have now all returned to their parent clubs.

Those signed to date: Jamie Clarke, Andrew Steeves, Ross Campbell, Graham Webster, Greg Pascazio, Chris Templeman, Terry Masson, Ryan Ferguson, Adam Harwood, Declan Milne, Kyle McLeod and Lloyd Hester.
