Three points in the bag for galaxy

Galaxy played their first game at the Galaxy Bowl in over a month with Lochside United providing the opposition.

Lochside had an early opportunity when they were awarded an indirect free kick inside the box but they worked space for a shot which was deflected wide.

The home side took the lead in 14 minutes when a tame Dean McCOMISKIE effort found the back of the net after good build up play.

Soon after, Kevin Hector forced a good save from the Lochside number one and Craig Thomson stabbed past. At the other end David Jamieson had to be lively and race from his line to clear the danger on a couple of occasions then when Lochside did get past the keeper his defenders got back to clear the danger.

Half Time: Fordoun Galaxy 1, Lochside United 0.

Fordoun were asked to up the tempo second half and some quick passing gave Dean McCOMISKIE a chance, which he stuck aways. Fordoun had four subs available and began to ring the changes but continued to dominate.

Twice inside 10 minutes Nathan Keddie danced into the box only to be chopped down, on each occasion Kevin HECTOR stepped up and stroked home the spot kick to give Fordoun what appeared to be an unassailable 4-0 lead.

The home side continued to press and Dean McCOMISKIE was sent in one on one and completed his hat-trick before scoring another almost identical goal.

Fordoun: Jamieson, Anderson (Davies), Mennie (R Deans), L Cruickshank, Cuthill (Norrie), Hector, Thomson (Simpson), R Stirling, Keddie, D Cruickshank and McComiskie.
