Academy win tennis in snow

Montrose Academy is in the quarter-finals of the Consolation round of the Scottish Schools National Competition, having beaten Bearsden Academy on a snow-blowing cold and chilly Tuesday afternoon.

The Montrose team was led by head boy Scott Lorimer who won his singles 6-4 6-1, with James Sievewright winning 6-0 6-1 and Ross Mitchell winning 6-0 6-0. Jack Murison, with a hamstring injury, narrowly lost his singles in a championship tie break 6-4 2-6 4-10. Scott and James won their doubles match 6-2 6-4 as did Ross and Jack 6-1 6-1.
