MONTROSE and District Athletics Club have received £110 from Enoch Cork Lodge No 3.

The money is being put towards the club’s contribution to an all-weather track at the refurbished sports centre.

The club’s Colin Christie explained that once SportScotland’s agreement has been confirmed, phase one of the project could go ahead, with installation of floodlights and a three-lane running track.

Mr Christie added that if all goes well, the new facility could be in place in time for the club’s championships in September.

Phase two would be a high jump area.
