The Angus Girls’ Under-15 Rugby Squad, based in Montrose, travelled to Murrayfield to take part in a sevens festival in advance of the Edinburgh v London Welsh match last Sunday.
The girls played three matches, the first of which was against local team Murrayfield Wanderers. Wanderers were a well-drilled side and they opened with three tries.
After a quiet start, the Angus girls burst into action with strong tackling and moving the ball to space. Just before the final whistle, the Angus team scored a try to win 5-4.
The following match was against Ross High and the Angus team continued with their expansive and effective rugby to run out comfortable winners.
In the final game, they played a combined Blairgowrie and Crieff side. The Angus squad kept up the high quality rugby to maintain an unbeaten record for the day.
Girls’ training has now stopped for the Christmas break but anyone interested in training in the New Year should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
