Hope Paton Senior Gents had a disappointing first Angus Senior League game, losing 5-2 at home to Boyle Park from Forfar.
Hope Paton were 19 shots up overall, but only one rink won, with two losing.
The winning rink comprised Ron Blackburn, skip; Davie Duncan, Frank Robb and David Murray, who were 23 shots up.
Unfortunately, the other two rinks each lost by two shots, giving two wins plus a bonus point to the visitors, but the home players certainly tried hard.
The club hopes to show improvement with the next home game next Tuesday (May 21), against Lochlands, with a 2pm start.
The teams are as follows:
1 - John Dempsey, John Paton, S. Moncur and David Scott.
2 - R. Blacklaws, David Duncan, F. Robb and S. Murray.
3 - S.L. Hale, D. Stott, J. Paterson and D. Muchir.
Reserves are J. Flitt, F. Fraser and B. Johnston.
