Lathallan School in Johnshaven is looking forward to welcoming hundreds to people to its fourth Rugby Sevens event and a thrilling day of competitive rugby.
Parents and friends of the players will be travelling from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Tayside and Perth to spend the day here cheering on the teams for Lathallan School’s Rugby Sevens Tournament on April 26.
Schools and clubs confirmed as attending in 2014 across the now four tournaments of Under-18, Under-16, Under-14 and P7 include Montrose, Carnoustie, Brechin, Mackie, Robert Gordon’s College, Deeside, Harris Academy, Strathmore, Moray, Gordonstoun, as well as four teams from Lathallan.
The event has firmly established itself as an important annual fixture for the sporting calendar and the school hopes to be joined by Sir Moir Lockhead, chairman of Scottish Rugby Union and Ian McLauchlan, former president of Scottish Rugby Union on the day.
The event will raise funds for The Bill McLaren Foundation, Hearts and Balls and The Lathallan Foundation for bursaries.
It is a free family fun day from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is open to all, with a barbecue, beer tent, bouncy castle, face painting, a raffle and family entertainment.
The raffle prizes include a signed Scotland rugby shirt, a signed Warriors rugby ball, Andrée Fine Food dessert, two tickets to Our Kind of Jazz Weekend at Woodend Barn, Four ball at Stonehaven Golf Course, a Roos Leap meal voucher and shopping vouchers.
