Montrose Shotokan Karate Club once again held a seminar and dan grading on Sunday, June 22, with Iain Abernethy.

Iain holds the rank of sixth dan with the British Combat Association - one of the worlds leading groups for close quarter combat, self-protection and practical martial arts -, the English Karate Federation and British Karate Association.

Successful students from Montrose Shotokan Karate Club who passed a grading are Shirley Jonsen, Jakub Burakowski, Daniel Cooper who all gained a first Dan and Scott Coutts achieved a second dan.

This year’s venue was sponsored by Gordon Phillips of ZJ Safety Ltd, for which the club are very grateful.
