Montrose Tennis Club held its ‘Open Day’ for the 2015 season on Saturday. President John Stirling, welcomed members. Club coach, Graeme Walker, gave taster coaching sessions for adults, including ‘Cardio’, with juniors and tiny tots groups.

Four of Scotland’s top male players were on hand for demo matches, current Scottish Cup winners Jonny Lints and Alan Ross, along with Scottish ‘top five’ professional players, Nicholas Rosenzweig and Bruce Strachan.

Our picture shows the club’s most promising junior, Marta Krauze, with from left, Jonny Lints, Nicholas Rosenzweig, Bruce Strachan and Andy Ross. Marta, now just turned 17, won the 16 and under division at the North of Scotland Autumn Open at Kilgraston School, beating a player with a higher rating by 6-1 6-4 in the final. She was also runner-up in the 18 and under division.
