The first pair of Rob Bennett and Wendy Sanger won three sets out of five finished, while the second pair of Jack Murison and Caroline Stewart won three, including one of the three tie-breaks the home team took.

The third couple of Kirsty Robertson, just 13, and David MacArthur failed to add to Montrose’s total.
