Pro-wrestling is heading back to Montrose later this month with a huge championship bout in store for Angus’ grappling
fans.

WrestleZone return to the Town Hall on February 22 for the annual body-slamming, bone-crunching
spectacle.

Top-of-the-bill will be a defence of the Undisputed Championship, as current title-holder Crusher Craib defends against two top challengers. Both Damien and Johnny Lions have held the title before, and will be out to take down the Crusher in Montrose.

WrestleZone host Martyn Clunes expects a tight contest in the main event.

He said: “Crusher Craib is fast approaching one year as champion, and he has looked unstoppable.

“At over six feet four inches, Crusher towers above most and has put his size to his advantage during a title reign which has seen him defeat many
challengers.

“But both Damien and Johnny Lions have made their intentions clear – they want the title back and will do anything to get it
back.

“The unique rules of this three-way championship match means Crusher does not need to be pinned to lose the title, and that makes it hard to predict who will emerge the
winner.”

Wrestling has a long tradition at the Montrose Town Hall, with regular wrestling events held at the Melville Gardens venue dating back to the late 1970s ‘World of Sport’ boom
period.

This latest wave of wrestling brings a whole new side to the grappling game, with the family-friendly theme meaning all ages can enjoy the event.

Also set for action at
the Montrose event will
be current tag team
champions Blue Thunder and William Sterling,
who will take on rivals
Bryan Tucker and Shawn Johnson in singles competition. Regular WrestleZone favourites Scotty Swift, Zach Dynamite and ‘Tangerine Dream’ Cysto will also be in action.

Crusher, who has the nickname the ‘Creator of Carnage’, is relishing the prospect of taking on two of the best in WrestleZone, and has promised that they will be crushed.

He added: “I want to take on the best, and in Montrose, I am going to prove that I am the man to beat here in WrestleZone.”

Doors at the Town Hall open at 7 p.m. with the action getting under way at 7.30. Entry is pay-at-the-door priced £12 for adults and £8 for under 14s.
