AFTER a break of some 25 years, Alistair and Colin Inglis returned to the rally scene this year in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V.
And they did so with considerable success, and superb performances in two national rallies, in Scotland and in Wales.
Their most recent outing was in the 2011 Wales Rally GB, which is the UK round of the World Rally Championship, and incorporates a National event.
The world competitors do three days, and the UK contenders do two, although over the same special stages.
This was the event in which Sebastian Loeb sealed The World Rally Championship Title for the eighth time.
The Inglis brothers showed that after a quarter of a century they are still competitive, and were delighted with their fourth place in the National event.
But they had gone three places better to win The IRC, Rally of Scotland, National Event on October 8 and 9 in Perth, finishing at Scone.
Will Alistair and Colin be rallying next year again? Plans are already being formulated for their programme.
l We plan to list the Inglis Brothers’ 2011 achievements in a future edition of the Montrose Review.
