Montrose and District Rugby Club received a ‘Partners in Learning’ certificate at the Angus Council event at Carnoustie Golf Hotel.

The club was nominated for the award by Evelyn Noble, head teacher at Borrowfield Primary School, for their rugby development programme in the school. Findlay Christie, Community Coach for Montrose Rugby received the certificate from Margo Williamson, Angus Council’s Strategic Director for People.

Findlay Christie said: “I was delighted to accept this award on behalf of the club.

“It is great to see how the partnership between the school and the club this year has made such a significant impact on the learning experiences of the pupils while supporting the long term vision of the club.

“Rugby teaches boys and girls so much; not just fitness but also life skills.

“It has been a pleasure working with Borrowfield Primary School and I am sure the Partnership will continue to deliver benefits to the young people and the rugby club.”
