MONTROSE and District RFC is one of 138 clubs across Scotland which have pledged their support to the RBS RugbyForce 2012 initiative which has been developed to encourage clubs across Scotland to open up their clubs to the local community, raise the profile of the game and launch the new domestic rugby season.
A weekend of activity is planned for August 11 and 12, including DIY work on the club’s facilities, rugby coaching and a visit from a member of the Scotland team.
It will be an opportunity for clubs to attract new supporters and players and give them a chance to see what the club does for their local community, as well as providing volunteers and resources to improve their facilities.
Dominic McKay, director of communications at Scottish Rugby, commented: “Club rugby is the lifeblood of the Scottish game.”
