Four members of Montrose and District Seals took part in the Dyce long course meet at the new Aberdeen Aquatic Village on Saturday, May 17.
The gala was well attended by swimmers from the North and East of Scotland, including Olympic swimmer Hannah Miley.
This was the first chance for the Montrose swimmers to race in a 50 metre pool and coaches Heather and Carol were delighted with all their performances.
They were taking part in the 100 metre graded events and Melissa Dickson got the day off to a flying start winning gold in the first event, the 12/13 girls’ freestyle.
Amy Dickson then swam well in the 15+ girls breaststroke achieving a personal best.
Mackinley Skea and Bethany Hall were swimming all 4 strokes. Mackinley just missed out on a medal in the 12/13 boys’ breaststroke, later going on to win gold in the 12/13 boys’ butterfly.
Bethany finished the afternoon off strongly with a bronze medal in the 9/11 girls’ breaststroke.
