Hope Paton Bowling Club Senior Men are looking forward to competing again in the Angus Senior League.

The league has a new team this year in Forfar Bowling Club and this brings the number up to 14 teams with each club playing 13 games.

Hope Paton players are hoping to improve last season’s finish of fifth position this year.

The first game is next Tuesday (April 29), which is away at Letham Bowling Club with a 2 p.m. start. The teams will be: 1, John Dempsey, John Paton, Jim Harrison and David Scott; 2, Davie Duncan, Dennise Aillie, Frank Robb and David Murray; 3, Stuart Hale, Jim Stott, Jim Paterson and David Murray. Teams will be leaving the clubhouse at 1.20 p.m.

The club held a coffee morning at the Old Church hall last Saturday (April 19), realising the sum of £923.90.

Due to ongoing problems with the surface of the Hope Paton Bowling Club green, the club’s opening day has been pushed back even further to this Sunday (April 27) at 2 p.m.

The players hope to get in some much need practice on Sunday with the president v vice-president match at 2 p.m.
