Welcome to Scottish Seniors

ROYAL Montrose Golf Club was delighted to host the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society (SSGS) on Thursday and Friday over the Montrose Medal Links Course.

A full field of 120 low handicap senior players from all over the country competed in the SSGS spring meeting.

The SSGS exists to answer a demand for high level competition amongst the over-50s. Competition normally consists of 36-hole opens held over two days at various venues throughout Scotland. They also run an order of merit over the season which the SGU refer to when selecting the International Team (Seniors) for the European Team Championships and the Home Internationals.

SSGS first competed at Montrose during Royal Montrose’s Bicentenary in 2010 and Club Captain Brian Ritchie confirmed that both Royal Montrose Golf Club and Montrose Golf Links Ltd were delighted to welcome the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society back.
