Well attended Tennis Courts meeting

There was a good turn out recently of those interested in getting the Hillside Tennis Courts up and running as a multi-sports complex.

There was a representative from the Links Park Community Trust, people from the Parents and Teachers Association of Hillside Primary School, along with other interested members of the public and Councillor David May, who temporarily chaired the meeting.

The audience heard about how funding is being looked into a possible surface for the facility and discussed a survey being carried out to ascertain people’s need for the court and what they want from it.

Councillor David May said: “The more we can provide facilities for people, especially young folk, to keep them occupied in a healthy way, the better it will be.”

Most people present were willing to be on a committee and the different tasks will be allocated at the next meeting on Monday, April 21 at 6.30 p.m. to which there will be a welcome for all those interested.
