Two young members of Montrose Tennis Club acquitted themselves with distinction in the City of Aberdeen North East Tournament played at Westburn Tennis.

Patrick Young and Louis Duthie Gray made their steady way through the early stages of the 12-and-under Boys’ Singles competition and competed in the final.

Although the games were contested, Patrick, rated 7.1 and ranked second in the Scotland North District for this age group, won the title in two straight sets. He is also a member at Stonehaven.

Louis, when these results are posted with the LTA, should enter the top 10 of the Scotland North Rankings for this age group.

Patrick also won the under-14-years age group tournament.

In the senior, over-45 category, new Montrose player Rob Bennett knocked out several well ranked players to secure runner-up position.
