A total of 135 P7 pupils from the six Montrose cluster schools were given a taster of sports on offer in the town as part of their transition week at Montrose Academy

The sports on offer included tennis, golf, rugby, athletics and a fun station where the youngsters took part in gladiator games.

Jordann Cunningham, sports development officer and organiser of the even, said: “We had a cracking day and it was great to see so many different sports on offer for the pupils. At the end of the session the pupils were asked what their favourite station was, and as with the previous Sports Hub Open Day - the sumo suits were a big hit. I would like to thank Caroline Campbell, Jason Boyd, Colin Christie, Graeme Walker, Ally Hutchison and their respective teams for providing such a fun event for the pupils as we all know that the transition from Primary to Secondary education can be a big step.”
