Roselea were beaten in the East of Scotland Cup by Edinburgh Utd 4-2 and will not progress in that competition.

Roselea were 2-0 down at half-time and then 3-0 down in the second half.

The team fought back and closed the gap to 3-2, with scorers Ross Mitchell and Calum Watson.

More chances were created at this score, before Edinburgh scored again. Roselea’s Michael Cruickshank then missed a penalty, with the score at 4-2.

St Andrews have climbed to the top of the League, on goal difference, after a 5-2 win at Forfar West End.

Roselea now travel to Dalkeith Thistle on Saturday, February 21, and fans are welcome to travel on the team bus, which will leave at 10.45a.m. from the Golf Inn.

In other Roselea news, on the Sunday after the Sportsman’s Dinner, the Hospitality Lounge was named “The Dave Robertson Lounge”, in tribute to Dave Robertson, who has spent over 50 years serving the club.

In the naming ceremony, his family visited and were proud to see the extension built in 2006 named after him.

The family were keen to point out that it was not a solo contribution from their father, and that, amongst others, Des Soutar (Treasurer), Nick Cowieson, Ian Sherrifs and Eric Dickie all helped the club through their toughest period, when they were left without a ground in the early 1980s, when Montrose FC gave up their ground-sharing.

After a few years perseverance, the club found a new home at Broomfield Park, where they remain today.

Dave and his family have remained loyal supporters of the club, with his son Dennis making many excursions home from his now-native Luxembourg, to take his father to as many games as
he can.
