Local Montrose Academy pupil Ciara Robertson, aged 14, from Hillside, has had a busy 2015 season racing her motocross bike all over the UK.
Ciara came second overall in the girls’ British championships, narrowly missing out on first place by just one point due to a big crash in one of her races.
Ciara had been leading in all her races but a few crashes whilst at the front sent her back on points.
Ciara also won the Aberdeenshire MX championships at the Rhynie track.
She was tied on points going into the last meeting with Caithness rider Jak Murray.
Ciara won the first race of the day and Jak won the second.
They were still tied on points until the very last race.
Ciara got out the gate first with Jak on her back wheel. Jak made a few passes but Ciara fought back every time.
So it was down to the last lap and Ciara passed Jak with only two corners to go and took the chequered flag to become champion.
Ciara is now moving up a class to race against the adults.
At the age of just 14 she will be the youngest female racing the 2016 Acrebis Nationals MX Ladies race on her new 2016 KTM 125.
Ciara will also be racing in the girls’ British nationals.
But before that she will be training hard all winter to prepare for season which starts in March at Doncaster.
Ciara has been sponsored by local companies Just Tyres, Carnegie Fuels and AC Contracts.
But she is currently looking for sponsors for up and coming 2016 season.
If you would like your company’s name on her bike and kit please contact Ciara on 01674 832833.
