Were you involved in Tokyo in 1964?

MSP ALEX Johnstone is asking anyone who attended the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo to contact the Japanese Embassy in London.

He explained “During London 2012, the Embassy of Japan will host an exhibition about the Tokyo Games, and [they] are looking for stories from people who attended, or who may have souvenirs that they could lend. The 1964 Games were notable for many reasons, with highlights including Joe Frazier, future heavyweight champion of the world, winning a gold medal in heavyweight boxing, and British runner Ann Packer setting a world record in becoming the surprise winner of the 800 metres.

“I would invite anyone who can share their experience of the Tokyo games, or who would be interested in lending items for the exhibition to contact culture@ld.mofa.go.jp”
