THE START of the 4v4 season is now upon us and the implementation of a new player pathway for the Dundee and District Youth Football Association (DDYFA) started earlier this month.
For the first time in Scotland, all children playing club football will play a format of the game that relates best to their age.
The game formats will focus the player on developing the right skills and techniques for their stage of development.
As part of Angus Council’s commitment to developing the potential of football in the Angus area, the Angus Developmental 4s aimed at boys and girls aged between six and eight began last weekend.
The scheme is designed for players who wish to put a game structure in place and provide opportunities for their new team to play regularly before the season starts. The programme will help the youngsters develop in a relaxed environment with no pressure and be allowed to express themselves and improve their basic skills.
The Angus Developmental 4s started on Saturday, March 12, but they will run until Saturday, October 29, with a three-week break from July 23 to August 13.
Sessions run from 10 to 11.30am every Saturday at the Astro Turf Pitch at Arbroath Sports Centre at a cost of £1 per week per player.
