MONTROSE singer Jenna White has fought off worldwide competition to reach the second round of an online talent search.
She made it through to the next round of the Avon Voices competition after the initial 178 entries from around the world were whittled down to 100 by a combination of public vote and a judging panel.
And the 26-year-old is hoping for further success with the backing of the local community. Jenna, If successful, will go through to the semi-finals for which she will be whisked off to Hollywood to record a professional music video.
Up until June 20 the public can view new performances by the round two contenders and vote for their favourites at www.AvonVoices.com. More than 1.7 million votes around the world were cast in the first.
Jenna said: “I was so excited when I found out that I had made it through to the second round of Avon Voices. I’m so grateful for all the support from the local community and would ask everyone to get behind me again and take five minutes to vote. You could help make my dream a reality.”
The competition will culminate later this year when 10 global finalists will go on to join celebrity judges to record an anthem written by Diane Warren that will debut live at the Avon Foundation for Women Annual Gala in New York City.
At the gala, two winners will be announced and will receive an opportunity to record a professionally produced album.
Jenna is one of only eight contenders from around the UK to have been selected.
