Do you fancy taking a trip down memory lane this month?

A new event has been announced which will take place at Brechin Town House Museum and is sure to be a hit with the town’s residents.

Brechin Conversations and Connections takes a look into Brechin’s past through Angus Archives’ amazing photographic collection, as well as the lens of local photographer, Kenneth Hay.

The organisers are hoping visitors to the event will be able to help them to identify the people and places in this incredible photographic archive and record them for the future.

The Archives team will be on site with booklets containing hundreds of photographs of old Brechin. Primarily dating from the 1950s up to the 1980s. Visitors are encouraged to browse the booklets, reminisce about the people and places they see in them, and write any additional information they can remember to help the team catalogue the collection for future researchers.

Craig Pearson, Archives & Local History Lead said: “This event allows the people of Brechin to engage with our collections, and to recall the people, building and events documented in these irreplaceable photographs.”

The reminiscence event coincides with the recent opening of the latest exhibition, Brechin Cathedral: 800 Years of Worship, which features a selection of documents and photographs from Angus Archives’ collections.
